Dividends and payout models
How dividends are calculated in Kosalo, and which payout models are currently available.
Overview
When a Secretary sets up a group, they choose how the group's dividends are calculated and paid out. This is set during Group Creation & Setup and can be changed later in Group Settings.
Kosalo currently supports one payout model, with three more in development. This page will be updated as each new model is released.
Standard Chama Available
The default payout model for most table banking and chama groups.
Dividend is based on each member's savings relative to the group's total savings, calculated at the end of each cycle.
A member's payout includes their individual savings plus their dividend earned.
More models — coming soon
These payout models are in development and not yet available for new or existing groups.
Total profit is split equally among all members, regardless of savings. Payout includes member savings plus the equal dividend received.
A configurable mix of proportional and equal share distribution.
Members receive back exactly what they contributed; dividends are not distributed. Payout includes member savings only.
