Records and contributions, at a glance
Where contributions and loans live in Kosalo, what each role can see, and how to read the Activity and Loan pages.
Where contributions and loans live
Contributions and loans are recorded on the Activity page — this is the single place where all records are entered.
The Activity page contains all records for each week or month, depending on your group's period setup. Records may include starting capital, shares, loans taken, paid loans, and other contribution types set up for your group — see Group Creation & Setup for optional fields.
The Loans page doesn't hold separate records — it derives its totals from the loan entries already recorded in the Activity page, showing total loans and interest across all activity.
What you can see, by role
| Role | Can see | Can edit |
|---|---|---|
| Secretary | All members' weekly/monthly activity | Yes — can add/edit entries |
| Treasurer / Chairperson | All records in Activity and Loan pages | View only |
| Member | Own weekly/monthly activity and loan page | View only |
Reading the Activity page
Periods are categorised into weekly or monthly, depending on your group's setup.
Contributions are labelled clearly so you know their status at a glance — for example, paid loan vs. issued loan, or issued fine vs. paid fine.
Reading the Loan page
The Loan page doesn't record anything on its own — it derives its figures from the loan entries already recorded in the Activity page, summarised and totalled per member.
Here you can see each member's total loan taken, total interest, total penalties, and outstanding balance.
Two ways to record a contribution or loan
Select a member and input their savings, loans, and other contributions directly.
